Browse through our FAQ List for answers to the most commonly asked questions concerning Pole Barn & House Package purchases and construction.

1. Can you have concrete with a pole barn? YES. You have two methods to use, the first is to pour the concrete before the building is built, this allows your building to be constructed on top of the concrete secured by anchor bolts; the second method is to build the building and pour the concrete after the building is completed.

2. Do you do concrete work? No. But if the building is local, we can recommend someone in the area.

3. Do you do the ground work? No, we build on your level sight.

4. How far do you build your pole barns? We build through the entire state of Missouri and in some surrounding states.

5. Can I just by the material? The building can be purchased with or without labor.

6. Do you do any financing? No, but visit our Financing section or call us as we have names of financial institutions that could help you with the financing.

7. What is the snow load of your trusses? 25 lb per square foot. Hwy Lumber builds hundreds of buildings each year, and has never lost a building to snow.

8. Since it is a pole barn, does that mean there are not sides on it? Not necessarily, Hwy Lumber can build the structure completely enclosed or leave the sides open — they have been made into garages, horse barns, houses, shops — we build to meet the customers’ needs.

9. What exactly does Hwy Lumber build or supply material for? Hwy Lumber carries lumber for decks — the material is already pre-stained, and makes a beautiful deck — we have standard sizes and custom sizes are also available; we provide materials for 95% complete home packages from our ten floor plans — each plan can be modified to suit the customer; our “pole barns” have varied from a barn for hay, a home, an art gallery, storage for a boat, a pole barn with lean-too on each side, business shops, RV’s, whatever needs to be stored or kept out of the elements —these buildings are all custom bid; then we have the smaller machine sheds that are again custom bid for the customers’ needs.

10. How long has Hwy Lumber been in business? We have been in business over 20 years and provide material and or labor for hundreds of buildings each year.
